How to Sign a Vehicle Title in Rhode Island
Before filling out any information on the title, carefully read these instructions, locate all the appropriate lines, and review any instructions on the title.
Turn to the back of your Rhode Island car title and look near the top.
On the first line, the buyer should print their name. Note that if two people are purchasing the car, both names need to fit on the same line. Immediately next to that line is a line where the buyer should print their full address.
Where it says "I state that the odometer now reads," print the vehicle's current mileage.
Where it says "Signature(s) of Seller(s)," the seller(s) should sign their name(s). On the line to the right, they should print the date they're signing the title. On the line to the right of that, the buyer(s) should sign their name(s). Next to that is a line where they can write in the date.
Where it says "Hand print name of seller(s)," the appropriate people should print their name(s). Immediately to the right of that is a line where the buyer(s) can print their name(s).
