How to Sign a Vehicle Title in Pennsylvania: Step-by-Step Guide
Before filling out any information on the title, carefully read these instructions, locate all the appropriate lines, and review any instructions on the title.
Note that Pennsylvania titles must be notarized. This can be done at a PennDOT office. Don't fill out the title until you get to the office, and bring photo identification with you. If you don't, the notary will not be able to notarize your signature.
Turn to the back of your Pennsylvania car title and look near the top.
On the left side of the page, fill in the vehicle's mileage in the appropriate location.
All the remaining places the buyer and seller need to write information is in the right-hand column.
Where it says "Purchaser or full business name," fill in the buyer's name (last name, first name and middle initial).
If a second person will own the vehicle, write that person's name on the next line (last name, first name and middle initial).
On the next line, write in the buyer's street address. On the corresponding lines under that, write in their city, state and zip code. Next to the zip code, you should write in the vehicle's purchase price.
On the next line, the person buying the car should sign their name. If a second person is buying the car, they should sign their name on the line right underneath.
Where it says "Purchaser and/or co-purchaser must handprint name here," the buyer(s) should print their name(s).
On the next line, the seller should sign their name. On the following line, the second seller can sign their name.
Where it says "Seller and/or co-seller must handprint name here," the seller(s) should print their name(s).
