Signing a Vehicle Title in Kansas: Step-by-Step Guide

Before proceeding to fill in any information, it's crucial to carefully read and understand these instructions, ensuring you locate all the relevant lines on the title.

On the Back of the Title (Top Section):

At the very top line, write in the buyer's name and full address.

On the line labeled "Odometer reading," write in the vehicle's current mileage.

Very close to the odometer reading line is a line labeled "Signature(s) of seller(s)." The seller should sign their name there. If there are two sellers, they will both need to sign on the same line.

The seller should also write in the date on the same line.

Right next to the signature line is another line where the seller(s) should print their name(s).

The next set of lines are for a notary public to fill out. Note that while Kansas titles can be notarized, this is not required.

On the next line, the buyer should sign the title where it says "Signature of buyer(s)." Again, if there are two buyers, they both need to fit their signature on the line. Right next to that, the buyer(s) should print their name(s).
