Signing a Vehicle Title in Idaho: Step-by-Step Guide
It's advisable to carefully review these instructions, locate all the relevant sections on the title, and read any accompanying guidelines before proceeding.
Front of the Title (Seller's Responsibilities):
- Near the middle of the page on the front of your Idaho title, you'll find two columns containing lines for necessary information.
- Write the car's current mileage in the space labeled "Odometer reading."
- Below that, enter the date the vehicle was sold.
- Print your name on the line labeled "Seller's/representative's printed name." If there's a second owner, their name should be printed on the same line.
- Sign the title underneath your printed name. Note that there are two "X" marks; each owner can sign next to one of them.
Back of the Title (Buyer's Responsibilities):
- On the right-hand column, the buyer should print their name in the space provided for "Purchaser's printed name." There's extra room in case there are two buyers.
- Write the buyer's street address on the following line.
- Below that, enter the buyer's city, state, and zip code on the appropriate lines.
- Sign your name next to the "X" on the next line. If there's a second buyer, they can sign their name next to the second "X."
