How to Sign a Vehicle Title in Colorado: Step-by-Step Guide
Before proceeding, it's advisable to thoroughly read these instructions, locate all the appropriate lines on the title, and review any accompanying guidelines.
On the Back of Your Colorado Car Title:
Examine the back of your Colorado car title. Towards the top, you'll find several blocks of text followed by two columns where you can fill in information about yourself and the buyer.
Left Column:
Start on the first line on the left side in those columns.
Where it says "Odometer reading," enter the car's current mileage.
Under that, print the seller's name.
Next, the seller should sign their name.
If there is a second owner, the additional owner should print their name on the next line, then sign their name on the following line. There is space for two more owners to print and sign their names as well.
Right Column:
Move to the column on the right side of the page.
The buyer (not the seller) must sign their name next to the odometer reading to certify that they've reviewed what the seller wrote down and the odometer reading is correct.
Where it says "Buyer's hand-printed name," the buyer should print their name.
Under that, the buyer can sign their name.
If there is a second buyer, the additional purchaser should print their name on the next line, then sign their name on the following line. There is space for two more buyers to print and sign their names as well.
